Mommy's Little Zombie

Its been a while since my last post 'Bad Blogger Bad', I know but I had an excuse. I got caught up with kids and life and most important....The Sketchbook Project 2012.

Now I sent my little baby in and I'm waiting for that wonderful email letting me they got it. I know, I know, they have a lot of mail to sort through...but my baby is out there floating in mail space.

Anyways, to not go crazy I'm going to keep myself occupied with drawing. Here is today's doodle..

Ain't she darlin.

Will post sketchbook pic later.

Day of the Dead

Dia de los muertos

Lately, I seem to be emerging myself in this fascinating aspect of the Mexican culture. It is truly a beautiful event/holiday that can by traced back perhaps 3,000 years ago. The holiday is celebrate on November 1 and 2nd in honor of deceased loved ones. Family and friends will build alters, gather around loved ones grave sites and offer the deceased delicious foods and trinkets.

The most represented symbol, from what I gather ,is The Lady of the Dead/goddess or the modern Catrina. She is said to be keeper of the bones.

In honor of this holiday I have created mask and sugar skulls. Check them out.
